Our Vision and Mission

Overview of Our Vision and Mission

The divine mandate of City of Christ gave birth to our vision and mission. This mandate is deeply rooted in the following scriptures:

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:1-5)

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:11-13)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

And said unto them, it is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. (Matthew 21:13)

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (Psalm 91:15-16)

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. (Acts 6:2-4)

And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. (Jeremiah 30:19)

We are primarily called to the ministry of prayer and the word, and we shall continue to occupy ourselves therein. We will passionately engage the Word of God for discipleship, edification, holiness, sanctification, righteousness, reprove, instruction, and doctrine, to establish the heart of men with grace, till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Holiness and Righteousness shall be our watchword.

We are called to be a people of prayer. Hence, fervent prayer will be our culture. We shall teach ourselves to engage prayer as a lifestyle at home and everywhere we go. We believe in the immense power of prayer; hence, we shall engage it as an instrument to trigger divine attention in every area of concern.

We will foster an atmosphere of pure praise and unadulterated worship. God deserves our worship.
